Autonomy Given to Colleges in Respect of Academic and Administrative Matters (Answer to question given by NAAC coordination Committee)

   A College with academic reputation, very good performance in University examinations, well established academic and co-curricular extension activities, adequate infrastructure, faculty having academic excellence in respect of teaching, learning, research, creative and innovative attitude, financially sound with a good management structure, approved quality and meritorious procedure for selection of students and staff can only apply for the grant of autonomy, if it is permanently affiliated to the University for a continuous period of not less than ten years and enjoying the status of 2(f) and 12(B) section of UGC Act 1956. The University after taking concurrence of the State Government and UGC, grants autonomy to those colleges that are having leadership qualities in academic and administrative matters. The University Statute and Act (Karnataka State Universities Act 2000, Karnataka Act No.29 of 2001) provides autonomy to college in following academic and administrative matters.
